Today is the day I want to go to a field. A field with flowers. Between the flowers there will be a big tree. And in this tree we will build a swing. I want to lay down in the grass when the sun is shining right under this tree, where a little breeze will be blowing. The warmth of the sun makes us so happy. The coolness of the breeze makes us happy too. Just like these beautiful flowers do and realizing that we are here. This moment: a moment of impact, simple but yet so strong. I will sit on the swing and laugh quietly. Climb in the tree and watch the view of the heels up ahead. This is all that matters. Happiness. Everyone finds happiness in different things. For me, this is happiness. Today is the day I want happiness.
Today is the day I booked my flight to Spain and I will tell you how excited I am, because I really am! On monday I will fly out to Barcelona and I won’t touch down on the dutch bottom until the end of august. This summer I will be spending my time as an au pair again somewhere close to Lleida, which is also pretty close to Barcelona and my first week will be spent in Peñiscola. So a lot of sightseeing, meeting new people, learning some Spanish, teaching some English and hopefully just having a great time. Of course I will keep you updated. But for now: Adiós amigos ☼
I just finished watching Now is Good. It is probably the fourth or fifth time that I have seen it and it still is so good! It is just real, like life is. It warms your heart, but it will also break it. The actors really delivered some wonderful work. The emotions are just very honest and pure. The instrumental soundtrack from Dustin O’halloran is also brilliant. I love how he plays the piano. It really adds up to the movie.
You must be wondering: what is this movie about? Now is Good is about a girl, Tessa (Dakota Fanning), who has got leukemia. She knows that she doesn’t have got much time left. She wants to do as much as possible in that small amount of time. But then unexpectedly she meets her new neighbour, Adam (Jeremy Irvine). You see how Tessa deals with everything, but also the people around her. Despite the sad story, it is so beautiful and definitely worth watching!
Yesterday I watched (500) Days of Summer again and again, it was really good. This is just one of those movie with a simple, yet wonderful idea behind it. It is not like there a thousand things happening, but still you won’t be bored a second.
The movie is about Tom (Joseph Gordon-Levitt), a young man who believes in love. He meets this lady, Summer (Zooey Deschanel), at work and he is immediately swept off his feet by her. The movie start a narrater telling us, let me tell you upfront: this is not a lovestory. It is a movie about love and all its element, from passion to anger to happiness to dissappointment. And apart from the love, it is kind of a weird movie as well. A bit like Juno, also a bit weird, but the good weird ;-)
This movie jumps back and forward in time and eventually all the piecies fit together. The clip that I put below starts with probably one of the saddest scenes of the movie (together with the one on the bench, if you’ve seen it, you will know what I’m talking about, pretty sad). If you haven’t watch the movie yet, I would like to say: watch the movie first. If will probably give away to much of the feeling. It is more a lovely way to appreciate the movie when you finished it and want to see some of the highlights. And last but not least: Joseph and Zooey are just amazing together & so good in their acting!
